It was a good day at the plate for the Maple Grove Post 172's Charles Horton. Horton went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.
Horton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He worked into the just seven innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed four runs.7th inning giving hiis team a chance.
The loss is the first for Maple Grove who will play Hamline Purple Sunday in an elimination game that starts at 1pm and will play out at Delano Municipal Park. The win sets up a one game show-down with Woodbury Blue that will determine one of the two Minnesota teams that will qualify for the Great Plains Regional in Bismarck, ND.
